How Hot Flashes Affects You
Several symptoms of menopause have been experienced by women, but hot flash is the one that is mostly discussed. During menopause, the body produces less estrogen and progesterone. As a result, the hypothalamus known as the thermostat of the brain gets mixed signals. It is as if it cannot decide if it’s hot or cold. This oscillation causes the blood vessels to expand and contract on an irregular and unpredictable basis. The flow of blood increases in the body resulting on feeling heat. Flush start on the face, the neck and goes through the chest. Some women perspire while other really sweats.
Hot flashes can be the sign of illness or medical disorders.
